My leige count Albert III,

I have just recieved news concerning the escaped labourer I wrote about in my last missive, Ran. It seems he was captured a few days after my letter an sentenced to 100 lashes by Sargent Jor. It is not known of he has any family, the men seem to be unfamiliar with his personal life or any details therof. I have reprimanded Jor for the punishment, as it was rather severe. However I can not deny the mans effect on moralle, the men are achieving the goals we set for them after all. Reports that the lessened daylight hours would affect productivity are clearly exagerated. The Castellan tells me that he has the correct supply of resources to complete the South wall in the Summer as you wished.
your humble servant Sir Gerhardt
