Sandpoint

A few days travel East of the City of Magnimar, up the coast of the Varisian Gulf lies the small town of Sandpoint.

Gossip:

Five years ago the town became well known throughout the region for a spate of a couple of dozen murders that were eventually found to have been committed by a local ecentric called Jervas Stoot aka 'the Sandpoint Chopper'.

A month after Chopper was killed, a accidental fire claimed the towns church and the lives of it's Cleric Ezakien Tobyn, and his adoptive daughter Nualia. The fire had spread to the White Deer and several homes before it was finally stopped.

The town has a prominent and well studied Thassilonian ruin, as it sees to have once been a lighthouse it is called the old light.

The town is one of the few places where all of the ingredients for glass are found in abundance. As such the towns biggest export is glass and glassware. The recipe used is a secret known only to the Kaijistu family who have a monopoly in this commodity.

Sandpoint is the site for pilgrimage by Clerics, Priests and Monks as there is a circle of seven standing stones with great riligious significance. The stones each bare a carving matching an older form of the symbols for the gods; Abadar, Desna, Erastil, Gozreh, Pharasma, Sarenrae and Shelyn. After the recent unpleasantness this fact was used to argue for the construction of a grand Catherdral to celebrate the stones, replace the old church and to go somewhat to allieving the towns woes. The Catherdral is now complete and a team of priests have arrived from windsong abbey to set up residence.
